An anthology of primary documents from anticolonial artistic and political movements – manifestos, declarations, essays, speeches, communiques, open letters, occasional pieces, and other nonfictional protests against cultural, economic, and political imperialism. The volume focuses on manifestos and related genres rather than poetry and fiction from a variety of linguistic and cultural traditions, moving beyond the anglophone and francophone materials that dominate postcolonial studies.
