Centered on the idea of “translations” this event featured an improvisational collaboration between Brother El, a Chicago-based electronic musician, with Boris Gafurov of the Ilkhom theater and Artyom Kim of Omnibus ensemble in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and Veronika Nassalskaya and Vyacheslav Evstafiev from Bata theater in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Incorporating Central Asian instruments and synthesizers, the work was structured around vignettes of Central Asian poetry.
